नामकर्म से रची, वह इंद्रिय है, आत्मा का लिंग इंद्रिय है । आत्मा कर्मों से मलिन है इसलिये पदार्थों को ग्रहण करने में असमर्थ है, इंद्रियाँ पदार्थों को ग्रहण करने में निमित्त है ।
