अरिहंत भगवान आहारक भी और अनाहारक भी होते हैं । जैसे Retirement से थोड़ा पहले अपने मकान की Maintenance बंद कर देते हैं, ऐसे ही भगवान चौदहवें गुणस्थान में अनाहारक अवस्था को प्राप्त कर लेते हैं ।
