तीर्थंकर प्रकृति का बंध प्रारंभ तो मनुष्य पर्याय में ही होता है, चौथे से सातवें गुणस्थान में । बाद में तीन गतियों ( तिर्यंच के अलावा ) में यह प्रकृति बंधती रहती है, आठवें गुणस्थान तक ।
